Hiromi Wada / Profile

Born in Kyoto.

Moved to Tokyo after graduating university.

After working as an in-office sales woman for a clothing company, from a simple crave for a greater wage, thinks of changing careers and quits. But life is not that easy, and in her job hunt, she is rejected by every company. When she was about to give up and return to her family home thinking “Maybe I can’t do this anymore…,” she encounters a job as a full commission sales woman for a foreign-based educational company, and it being her only choice, decides to take the job.

Unfortunately, because of her shyness for people, she starts out as a dropout (for a first year saleswoman), and she spends a difficult time where she can’t come out with any results.

But after she notices that what she must do is “gently give people a supportive push in the back,” she begins to win her contracts, and from the joy of being thanked by her customers, she discovers the fun of being a saleswoman, and goes on to develop her unique sales method.

From there she develops her sales method of “creating fans” which wins her 40% of her entire contracts through introductions, and a 98% contract rate of customers that listened to her presentation.

Within a short period of time she is repeatedly promoted, and while still in her twenties, she becomes the first woman to become the divisional inspector of a branch office, a position won by only one in twenty thousand. Her performances greatly influence later saleswomen, and she achieves many successful results.

From there, she goes on to become General Manager of the Planning Department, then the Marketing Manager, and finally becomes the youngest Sales Manager, managing one hundred employees in twenty branch offices all over the country.

In 2001, due to the withdrawal of the company from Japan, four hundred employees are laid off. Without a job and an income, she realizes that “All I can do is train sales people and pass on the thrill of the job,” and establishes an independent firm, Perie, Inc. From there, she has been working on building organizations in various industries as a sales consultant.
